Adult Learners' Awards Ceremony The seventh annual Adult Learners' Awards ceremony, funded by the Employment Learning and Skills SSP, took place at The Foundry, Lugsdale Road, Widnes, on Wednesday 23rd June and was once again a great success.

The ceremony was organised by Halton Borough Council's Adult Learning and Skills Development Team and celebrated the hard work and achievements of over 200 learners who had taken part in adult education classes across Halton during the past 12 months.

Mayor of Halton presents awards

The awards were made to individuals or groups who had made outstanding progress or achieved notable success in one of 10 separate categories, which reflect the many different backgrounds of learners, such as "Overcoming the Odds", "Achievements that Inspire","Family Learners" and "Workplace Learners", which recognises commitment and achievement whilst in employment or training that has directly resulted in employment.

The Deputy Mayor of Halton, Councillor David Findon, presented the learners with their certificates on stage and their appreciation and pride in receiving their award was evident to everyone.
