Can not download a file?
The resource area of the site includes files that you may want to access online or download and read later.
It would be nice if when you clicked the Download link the file arrives on your desktop. Sadly, because of various spyware threats, your Internet browser may disable automatic downloads. Though this will keep out downloads that you don't want it may add a step to the process of obtaining a file that you do want.
For example, Internet Explorer (Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2) will pop up a little yellow bar at the top of the screen that informs you a download has been blocked. To continue the download, you can right-click that bar (called an information bar), and select Allow this download. Once you do that, you'll see a dialog box that asks you to approve the download.
What if it's a Zip file?
In order to make it easier for you to download a collection of items or a large file you might come across ZIP files.
A ZIP file is simply one of more files that have been compressed in order to take up less space on a hard drive or download faster over the Internet.
If your desktop doesn't already include a ZIP utility there are ones that you can either purchase or download for free.
If it's a ZIP file that has been downloaded then when you click on the file on your desktop your ZIP utility should launch and show you a list of files the ZIP file contains. It will then allow you to extract the items you are interested in.
What if it's a PDF file?
PDF is a universal file format that preserves the fonts, formatting, colors, and graphics of any source document, regardless of the application and platform used to create it.
PDF is the open standard for distributing formatted documents over the Internet. PDF files are compact and can be shared, viewed, navigated, and printed using the free Adobe Acrobat Reader software. If you haven't already got this installed then it can be downloaded from www.Adobe.com.
