Our aim is to help people of all ages who struggle with words and numbers in their everyday lives. We do this by supporting those who teach them. We have a long history of campaigning for priority to be given to raising standards of basic skills and have pioneered quality standards for schools; family literacy and numeracy programmes; work with voluntary and community organisations; open learning; financial literacy, and workplace basic skills programmes. We aim to support teachers of basic skills across sectors and age groups and take a ?cradle to grave? approach to improving standards. We operate six programmes, designed to share practice and disseminate ideas and innovation in basic skills teaching and learning. |
